Grand Metal Concert called Banyuwangi Metal Gerilya will be held again on Sunday of February 12th, 2017. Live at Gesibu Blambangan, Bayuwangi City, this concert is the 13th event of the series of Banyuwangi Metal Gerilya concerts that always held every years. In this concert, Banyuwangi Metal Gerilya announce the event by theme "Civil War XIII". This event will feature some great Indonesian Metal Band such as BLACKSTONE from Sidoharjo Thrash Metal, G.A.S from Surabaya Grindcore, SCREAMING FACTOR from Malang Grindcore, and many more with SIKSAKUBUR as Headliner.

My nephew with The Yamaha CGS102A

I found this guitar in Yamaha outlet in Bekasi City, East Java and I bought one. When the first time I saw the guitar, I was underestimate the guitar because the size, although the finish of the guitar looks great. The guitar was the smallest size of Yamaha Classical Guitar range. But, after tried the guitar, I surprised with the sound of the guitar. It was good for guitar with small body size. Good play ability, and no scale tone mistake. I though good for learning and training in the room (specially for kids).

Yamaha CGS102A had 21" (535mm) scale lenghtand 3-3/4" (94-100mm) deep body provide perfect fit for youngest musician. Look at the picture, when my nephew held the guitar ( when he was 4 years old). By the way, the body guitar was Meranti back and side (Meranti was original Indonesian wood which grown in Borneo forest) and spruce top. The neck guitar was Nato with Rosewood fingerboard (brigde rosewood also). This guitar Made in Indonesia by Yamaha Music Corporation.

I accidentally bought this guitar for used by children around my house (although I often play the guitar also). Besides for introduce musical instrument to them, It was the way to avoid their interference when I play my guitar or another music instrument (even another activity) with thrusting this guitar to them and hope gave them bustle. But in fact, I often used this guitar for play a song when I was relaxing, even I ever wrote a song with this small guitar. check the song here or visit my soundcloud.

Marching Band Parade

If I have noticed lately, more and more schools in my district put a marching band as a flagship extra-curricular activity of the schools. So many assumptions in community, if the school has not marching band, the quality of the school was questionable. Marching Band has been used as a tool to attract more prospective students to want to go to school.

But no doubt, it's works. Schools with Marching Band extra-curricular got more students than schools did not have Marching Band. With this reality, finally every school focus on compete showed their Marching Band. This was good for student as well not. Good if the school has the capacity to hold it, from financial issues to teacher capabilities. But really problematic if it was imposed.

For example, although the government has eliminate school fees for elementary level, parents often have to spent additional funds for several purposes beyond the basic needs of studying process. Marching Band just only a example of the case,  many more in different case. But not all schools did that, but I was seeing the trend.

The positive side. Now, a lot of students can playing a musical instrument and became interested with musical instrument. In addition, many School Marching Band competitions has been held, thus providing experiences for students. The competition usually held when Independence Day and another great day, but now feels routine because I can saw the competition every month.

I tried to remember the days of junior high school, where music became my favorite subjects. This wasn't the main school subjects, but I put this subjects to my main interest. Average my friends didn't really like this course, because we must read music sheets, and it was so confusing. Doesn't mean I was not, confused as hell, but the confusion was a pleasure.

The confusion was increased with mandatory to be able to play a music instrument called recorder. Recorder was musical instrument in woodwind instrument categorized. Simple instrument, but becomes difficult because has the word "mandatory", And the kids didn't like it. But finally, every person able to play it, after received some punishment from mentor. never perfect tone, just a confident louder sound was an achievement.

After a long time didn't hold and played this musical instrument, for fun, yesterday I stopped at music store and bought a cheapest recorder. Cheapest but had a great brand and made from resin, so this was a strong instrument with German-Baroque System Fingering. By the way, is exactly same with musical instrument that I have ever played in my junior high school.

At home, can't wait to try it. It happened when it rains, surprisingly, played this musical instrument among the gurgling sound of the rain gave me a different atmosphere. soothe, cool, and brought me back to past. A period where is there only passion.
