Have you ever seen the vehicle like in the picture above? The vehicle called "Grandong". Grandong was a custom "recycle" vehicle. Powered by diesel, the transporter had versatile capabilities. Commonly, Grandong used for transport products and agricultural needs in rural areas. But in nowadays, the variants of function has involved.

Gradong made from recycle some part of vehicle that were not used anymore and combined with some waste materials. It was creativity of  farmers who did not have enough money to buy a factory vehicle. Sometime, if the farmer who want to build a Grandong  get lucky, they got a good quality chassis waste so they got a vehicle with a good performance.

To operate Grandong need special skill, because the instruments to drive the vehicle was limited. Moreover, Grandong always through some difficult route in rural areas. There was no guarantee for security. Although, the levels of the safety has been increase, but Grandong accident cases remains relatively high.

Grandong has been helping for framers economy for the last decade. But, Grandong was still an illegal vehicle, because never registered, without tax and also unlicensed operation feasibility on the road and often cause accidents. Therefore, some of  local government banned the operation of Grandong. But they survived and they are still helping farmers until now.
